Description
A delicious and easy-to-make Crockpot Pierogi Casserole with Kielbasa, perfect for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
- 2 cups frozen pierogi (cheese and potato or your choice)
- 1 pound kielbasa, sliced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In the bottom of a greased crockpot, layer half of the frozen pierogi.
- Top the pierogi with half of the sliced kielbasa and half of the diced onion.
- Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining pierogi, kielbasa, onion, and cheddar cheese.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the sour cream, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Pour this mixture evenly over the layered ingredients in the crockpot.
- Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours or on high for 2 to 3 hours, until the pierogi are tender and heated through.
- Before serving, garnish with fresh chopped parsley.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, substitute the kielbasa with sautéed mushrooms or a plant-based sausage.
- Add a layer of sautéed bell peppers or spinach for extra veggies and flavor.
