Ingredients
For the Cookie Dough:
- 1/2 cup butter (softened)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon milk
For the Decorations:
- Pastel sanding sugar (pink, yellow, green, blue)
- 24 Hershey’s Kisses or Hugs (or your favorite chocolate candy)
Instructions
- Prepare the Cookie Dough:
- Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.
- Gradually add in the flour, baking soda, salt, and milk, stirring until the dough forms.
- Shape and Roll in Sugar:
- Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and coat each one in pastel sanding sugar.
- Place the sugar-coated dough balls on a lined baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake to Golden Perfection:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 8-10 minutes, until the cookies are just set.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 2 minutes before adding chocolate.
- Add the Chocolate Kiss:
- Gently press a Hershey’s Kiss or Hug into the center of each warm cookie.
- Allow cookies to cool completely before serving.
