Ingredients
- 6–8 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite)
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken:
- Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels.
- Brush evenly with olive oil.
- Season the Chicken:
- In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Rub the seasoning mixture onto the chicken thighs.
- Preheat the Grill:
- Heat your grill to medium-high (375–400°F).
- Lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking.
- Grill the Chicken:
- Place the chicken thighs skin-side down on the grill.
- Cook for 5–7 minutes, flip, and cook for another 5–7 minutes.
- Add BBQ Sauce:
- Brush the chicken with BBQ sauce during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
- Flip and brush the other side to caramelize.
- Check for Doneness:
- Ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F using a meat thermometer.
- Rest and Serve:
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
- Serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
