Description
This Grilled Honey Garlic Salmon is sweet, savory, and bursting with flavor. Marinated in a luscious blend of honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger, then grilled to perfection, it’s a quick and healthy dish ideal for weeknights or special dinners.
Ingredients
2 salmon fillets (6 ounces each)
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Salt and pepper, to taste
Chopped green onions, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Make the Marinade: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and lemon juice until well combined.
Marinate the Salmon: Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Turn to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Preheat the Grill: While the salmon marinates, preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
Grill the Salmon: Remove the salmon from the marinade and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Reserve leftover marinade for basting. Place the salmon skin-side down on the hot grill and cook for 4–5 minutes without moving. Carefully flip, baste with reserved marinade, and grill for another 3–4 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
Rest and Serve: Remove from the grill and let rest for 2–3 minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired, and serve hot with your favorite sides.
Notes
Do not marinate the salmon for more than 2 hours, as the lemon juice can break down the fish’s texture.
If using frozen salmon, fully thaw before marinating.
For a bolder flavor, double the garlic and ginger.
Use low-sodium soy sauce to reduce sodium levels if preferred.
This recipe also works well baked, pan-seared, or broiled if grilling is not an option.
