A delicious and zesty grilled shrimp recipe marinated in a flavorful lemongrass mixture.
Ingredients
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 stalks lemongrass, finely minced
- 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 2 tablespoons oil for grilling
- Fresh cilantro leaves, for garnish
- Lime wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the marinade in a mixing bowl by combining the minced lemongrass, chopped garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, lime juice, and crushed red pepper. Stir until well blended.
- Add the shrimp to the marinade, ensuring each piece is thoroughly coated. Cover with plastic wrap and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours.
- Heat the grill to medium-high temperature.
- Skewer the marinated shrimp, leaving small gaps between each shrimp.
- Grill the skewers for approximately 2-3 minutes per side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
- Remove the shrimp from the grill and let them rest for a minute.
- Serve the grilled shrimp garnished with fresh cilantro and lime wedges.
Notes
- For an extra kick, increase the amount of crushed red pepper or add sriracha to the marinade.
- This recipe can be adapted by using chicken or tofu instead of shrimp.
