Ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey (85% lean preferred)

- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated (or 1/2 tsp ground ginger)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional for spice)
For the Teriyaki Sauce:
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 tbsp honey (or maple syrup)
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (or arrowroot powder)
- 1/4 cup water (to mix with cornstarch)
Instructions
Prepare the Teriyaki Sauce:
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine ¾ cup water, soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger. Stir and bring to a light boil.
- In a separate bowl, whisk cornstarch with ¼ cup water to create a slurry.
- Slowly pour the slurry into the saucepan, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.
Cook the Stir Fry:
- Heat sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add diced onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened.
- Add ground turkey, breaking it apart as it cooks. Stir until fully browned.
Add Vegetables & Sauce:
- Stir in broccoli and shredded carrots, cooking for 3-4 minutes until tender.
- Reduce heat to low and pour in the prepared teriyaki sauce, stirring to coat all ingredients evenly. Let simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Sprinkle in orange zest (if using) and season with salt and pepper to taste.
