Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- ½ yellow onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 (15 oz each) cans tomato sauce
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 8 oz egg noodles
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the Meat Mixture:
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic until fully browned.
- Stir in tomato sauce and Italian seasoning, then simmer for 5 minutes.
- Prepare the Noodles and Creamy Base:
- Cook egg noodles until al dente, then drain.
- In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream, cottage cheese, and cooked noodles. Season with salt and pepper.
- Assemble the Casserole:
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Layer half the noodle mixture, followed by half the meat sauce.
- Repeat layers and top with grated cheddar cheese.
