Description

A delicious and easy-to-make recipe for homemade crunch wraps filled with ground beef, refried beans, cheese, and fresh vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (or turkey)
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 1 cup refried beans
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup tortilla chips, crushed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat and stir in taco seasoning. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, then remove from heat.
  2. Lay one flour tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread 1/4 cup refried beans in the center of the tortilla.
  3. Add a layer of the cooked ground beef (about 1/4 cup), followed by a handful of crushed tortilla chips, 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese, a few pieces of shredded lettuce, and some diced tomato.
  4. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of sour cream and a spoonful of salsa on top of the filling.
  5. Fold the edges of the tortilla towards the center, creating pleats to seal the filling inside. Make sure to pinch the folds together to secure the wrap.
  6. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place the crunch wrap seam-side down in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the other side.
  7. Remove from the skillet and let cool for a minute before slicing in half. Serve with extra salsa and sour cream on the side.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute the ground beef with sautéed mushrooms or black beans.
  • Add sliced jalapeños or diced avocado for an extra kick and flavor.
