Description

Enjoy the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and tangy flavors with this Honey Garlic Chicken Breasts recipe. Tender, golden chicken is coated in a rich honey garlic sauce, making it a quick and delicious meal for any occasion!

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter (divided)
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 6 cloves garlic (thinly sliced)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp seasoned rice vinegar
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • Kosher salt (to taste)
  • Freshly cracked black pepper (to taste)
  • Thinly sliced green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cooking Base: Heat 1 tbsp olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Prep the Chicken: Slice the chicken breasts in half lengthwise, creating four thinner pieces. Season with salt and black pepper. Dredge in flour until evenly coated.
  3. Cook the Chicken: Place the floured chicken in the heated pan. Cook for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and almost fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
  4. Make the Honey Garlic Sauce: In the same pan, melt the remaining 1 tbsp butter over medium-low heat. Add sliced garlic and stir constantly for 30-60 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Deglaze and Thicken the Sauce: Pour in soy sauce and seasoned rice vinegar, scraping up browned bits. Stir in honey, black pepper, and a pinch of salt. Let simmer for 4-5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Combine Everything: Return the chicken and juices to the pan. Simmer for 1 minute to meld flavors.
  7. Serve & Garnish: Plate the chicken, drizzle with sauce, and garnish with green onions.

Notes

  • Use fresh garlic slices to prevent burning and enhance flavor.
  • Avoid overcooking the chicken to keep it juicy.
  • Let the sauce thicken naturally by simmering it gently.
  • Adjust sweetness by reducing honey to 1/4 cup if preferred.
  • Add spice with red pepper flakes or Sriracha.
