Description
A quick and delicious recipe for Mexican Pizza that combines seasoned ground beef, refried beans, and fresh toppings.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 cup refried beans
- 1 cup salsa
- 2 large flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 medium tomato, diced
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup sliced black olives
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat and stir in the taco seasoning according to package instructions. Set aside.
- Spread half of the refried beans on one tortilla and half of the salsa on the other tortilla.
- Evenly distribute the seasoned ground beef over the refried beans on one tortilla, then top with half of the shredded cheese.
- Place the second tortilla on top of the first, salsa side down, and press gently.
- Place the assembled pizza on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the tortillas are crispy and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomato, sour cream, black olives, and green onions before slicing.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add jalapeños or a sprinkle of cayenne pepper to the ground beef while cooking.
- Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option, or use a plant-based meat alternative for a vegetarian version.
