Description

This Miso Butter Salmon is an irresistible blend of sweet, savory, and umami-rich flavors. The combination of white miso paste and butter creates a velvety sauce that caramelizes beautifully on salmon, making each bite flaky and delicious. Perfect for a quick weeknight meal or an impressive dinner, this recipe is simple, yet packed with gourmet flavor.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)

  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

  • 3 tbsp white miso paste

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

  • 2 tsp fresh ginger, grated

  • 12 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp green onions, sliced thin

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Miso Butter – In a bowl, mix softened butter, miso paste, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, and green onions until well combined.

  2. Coat the Salmon – Spread the miso butter evenly over the salmon fillets.

  3. Oven Method: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place salmon in a baking dish and bake for 12-15 minutes. Broil for 1-2 minutes for a caramelized finish.

  4. Air Fryer Method: Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Line the basket with parchment paper, place salmon inside, and cook for 9-10 minutes.

  5. Serve & Garnish – Transfer salmon to a serving dish, drizzle with remaining butter, and garnish with extra green onions. Serve with rice and vegetables.

Notes

  • For a bolder flavor, substitute red miso for white miso.

  • Let salmon come to room temperature before cooking for even results.

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

  • To reheat, use an oven at 300°F (150°C) for 15 minutes or an air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes.
