Description

A savory loaf made with olives, bacon, and cheese, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup pitted green olives, sliced
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Whisk until well blended.
  3. Stir in the chopped bacon, sliced olives, cheddar cheese, and Parmesan cheese until evenly distributed.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, and eggs until smooth.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.
  6. Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For a twist, try adding sun-dried tomatoes or fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme for extra flavor.
  • You can also substitute the bacon with cooked sausage or leave it out for a vegetarian option.
  • Enjoy this savory loaf warm or toasted for breakfast, lunch, or dinner!
