Description
A savory loaf made with olives, bacon, and cheese, perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup cooked bacon, chopped
- 1 cup pitted green olives, sliced
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Whisk until well blended.
- Stir in the chopped bacon, sliced olives, cheddar cheese, and Parmesan cheese until evenly distributed.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, and eggs until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a twist, try adding sun-dried tomatoes or fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme for extra flavor.
- You can also substitute the bacon with cooked sausage or leave it out for a vegetarian option.
- Enjoy this savory loaf warm or toasted for breakfast, lunch, or dinner!
