Description
A delicious and easy recipe for Orange Glazed Salmon, featuring a citrus glaze that enhances the flavor of the salmon.
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (approximately 6 ounces each)
- 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1 tablespoon grated orange peel
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or lightly greasing it.
- In a medium saucepan, mix together the orange juice, grated orange peel, honey, soy sauce, chopped garlic, and grated ginger.
- Heat this mixture over medium heat until it reaches a gentle simmer, cooking for about 5-7 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Remove the glaze from heat and set aside.
- Season the salmon fillets generously with salt and pepper on both sides, then arrange them skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Using a brush, apply a generous layer of the citrus glaze over each fillet, saving some for later.
- Place the salmon in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily when tested with a fork.
- Remove the salmon from the oven and drizzle the reserved glaze over the top.
- Garnish with the chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
- For an extra flavor boost, consider adding a dash of red pepper flakes to the glaze.
- You can swap out the salmon for trout or tilapia for a unique twist.
- Pair this dish with steamed vegetables or a side of rice for a satisfying meal.
