A delicious and cheesy grilled cheese sandwich featuring homemade basil pesto and creamy burrata cheese.
Ingredients
- 2 slices of crusty artisan bread
- 2 tablespoons homemade basil pesto
- 4 ounces creamy burrata cheese, torn into pieces
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Freshly cracked black pepper and sea salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium-low heat.
- Drizzle olive oil on one side of each slice of artisan bread.
- Lay one slice of bread, oiled side down, in the pan.
- Generously spread the basil pesto on the top side of the bread.
- Scatter the torn burrata cheese over the pesto, ensuring even coverage.
- Sprinkle with freshly cracked black pepper and a pinch of sea salt.
- Place the second slice of bread on top, oiled side facing up.
- Cook gently for about 4-5 minutes, checking for a golden crust.
- Carefully flip the sandwich and continue cooking for another 4-5 minutes, until the cheese is gooey and the bread is perfectly toasted.
- Once done, remove from the heat, allow to rest for a moment, then cut in half and enjoy.
