Description
A delicious Shrimp & Crab Pasta with a creamy Cajun sauce that is sure to delight your taste buds.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces fettuccine or linguine pasta
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup lump crab meat, drained
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 bell pepper, diced (any color)
- 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and bell pepper, sautéing until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and season with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Cook until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through, about 3-4 minutes.
- Gently fold in the lump crab meat, being careful not to break it apart.
- Reduce the heat to low and pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Allow the sauce to simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
- Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and well combined. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
- For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for the heavy cream.
- Add your favorite vegetables, such as spinach or cherry tomatoes, for extra flavor and nutrition.
