Description

A delicious Shrimp & Crab Pasta with a creamy Cajun sauce that is sure to delight your taste buds.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces fettuccine or linguine pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup lump crab meat, drained
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, diced (any color)
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and bell pepper, sautéing until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Stir in the garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the shrimp to the skillet and season with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Cook until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Gently fold in the lump crab meat, being careful not to break it apart.
  6. Reduce the heat to low and pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Allow the sauce to simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  7. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
  8. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and well combined. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
  9. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for the heavy cream.
  • Add your favorite vegetables, such as spinach or cherry tomatoes, for extra flavor and nutrition.
