Ingredients
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas and melted butter. Stir until well mixed.
- Add the brown sugar and granulated sugar to the banana mixture, and mix until combined.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bars to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a nutty twist, add 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans to the batter.
- For a healthier option, substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour.
