Description
A delicious recipe for Steak and Creamy Garlic Parmesan Pasta that combines tender steak with a rich and creamy sauce over fettuccine.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces fettuccine pasta
- 1 pound sirloin steak, cut into strips
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the fettuccine pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the steak strips with salt and pepper, then add them to the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning, mixing until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth.
- If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
- Add the cooked fettuccine and steak back into the skillet, tossing to coat everything in the creamy sauce. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat through.
- Serve immediately, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
Notes
- For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for the heavy cream and use grilled chicken instead of steak.
- To add some vegetables, toss in steamed broccoli or spinach during the last few minutes of cooking.
