- Whipped cream – 1 ½ cups
- Vanilla extract – 1 tsp
- Crushed Oreo cookies – 12–15
For the Chocolate Ganache:
- Semi-sweet chocolate chips – 1 cup
- Heavy cream – ½ cup
For Garnish:
- Crushed Oreo cookies – For topping
- Whipped cream (optional) – For serving
Instructions
- Prepare the Cake Batter
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a jelly roll pan with parchment paper.
- Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs and sugar until thick and pale (5–7 minutes).
- Add vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and red food coloring. Mix until combined.
- Gently fold in the dry ingredients until smooth.
- Bake the Cake Roll
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, until the cake springs back when touched.
- Dust a clean kitchen towel with powdered sugar. Turn the cake out onto the towel, peel off parchment, and roll with the towel inside. Let it cool completely.
- Make the Oreo Cream Filling
- Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Fold in whipped cream and crushed Oreos gently.
- Assemble the Cake Roll
- Unroll the cooled cake and spread the Oreo cream filling evenly.
- Roll the cake back up (without the towel), wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Prepare the Chocolate Ganache
- Heat heavy cream in a saucepan until it simmers.
- Pour over chocolate chips and let sit for 1–2 minutes. Stir until smooth.
- Decorate the Roll
- Place the chilled cake roll on a serving platter.
- Pour ganache over the roll, letting it drip down the sides.
- Garnish with crushed Oreos and optional whipped cream.
