- 2 slices Monterey Jack cheese
Instructions
- Marinate for Maximum Flavor:
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and paprika.
- Coat the chicken breasts in the marinade and let them rest for at least 30 minutes (or longer for deeper flavor).
- Sautéing the Perfect Topping:
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add onions and mushrooms, cooking until soft and caramelized. Set aside.
- Cooking the Chicken to Perfection:
- In the same pan, melt butter and cook the chicken for about 5-7 minutes per side, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Melting the Cheese and Smothering the Chicken:
- When the chicken is almost done, place a slice of Monterey Jack cheese on each breast.
- Cover the skillet for 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts beautifully.
- Top with the sautéed onions and mushrooms and let everything meld together for another minute.
- Serving & Enjoying:
- Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or vegetables for a full meal.
Notes
- For extra juiciness, marinate the chicken for at least an hour.
- Use freshly grated cheese for the best melt.
- Caramelize the onions and mushrooms slowly to bring out their natural sweetness.
- Let the chicken rest before slicing to retain its juices.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in a skillet over low heat with a splash of broth to maintain moisture.
