Turn the classic deviled egg into a modern masterpiece! Air fryer deviled eggs combine creamy, tangy yolk filling with a perfectly crispy breaded egg white shell. This delightful twist adds texture and flavor, making it the ultimate appetizer for any occasion.
Ingredients
For the Deviled Eggs:
- 8 large eggs (divided)
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 1/2 teaspoons sweet pickle relish
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 1 1/2 teaspoons yellow mustard
- Kosher salt (to taste)
- Freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
For the Crispy Coating:
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup finely ground Ritz cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
- Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
- Olive oil or neutral cooking spray
For Garnish:
- Ground paprika (for dusting)
- Fresh dill (for serving)
Instructions
- Cook and Prepare the Eggs:
- Place 6 eggs in an air fryer basket and cook at 250°F for 17 minutes.
- Transfer the eggs to an ice bath to stop cooking. Once cooled, peel the eggs gently.
- Prepare the Filling:
- Slice each cooked egg in half lengthwise and remove the yolks.
- Mash yolks with mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, Dijon mustard, and yellow mustard.
- Season with salt and pepper. Transfer the mixture to a piping bag or zip-top bag.
- Bread the Egg Whites:
- Place flour in a shallow bowl.
- In a second bowl, beat the remaining 2 eggs with 1/2 teaspoon each of Dijon mustard and yellow mustard. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- In a third bowl, mix cracker crumbs, panko, garlic powder, parsley flakes, cayenne, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Coat the Egg Whites:
- Dip each egg white into the flour, then the beaten egg mixture, and finally the crumb mixture.
- Press gently to coat evenly and place on a baking sheet. Lightly spray with cooking spray.
- Air Fry the Egg Whites:
- Arrange the breaded egg whites in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Cook at 390°F for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
- Assemble and Serve:
- Pipe the yolk filling into each crispy egg white half.
- Dust with paprika and garnish with fresh dill.
- Serve immediately for the best crunch and flavor!
