With nutty brown butter, creamy white chocolate, and crunchy toffee bits, these cookies are crispy on the edges, soft in the center, and packed with flavor. Perfect for any occasion, they’re a delightful treat that’s sure to impress.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 stick (113g) unsalted butter (browned)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup (150g) brown sugar
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 3/4 cup (135g) white chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup (120g) chocolate toffee bits

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Sift Dry Ingredients:
Sift together the flour, baking powder, and sea salt in a small bowl. Set aside.
  • Brown the Butter:
Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat, whisking constantly, until golden brown with a nutty aroma. Transfer to a mixing bowl and let cool slightly.
  • Cream Butter and Sugar:
Add brown sugar and vanilla extract to the browned butter. Beat with a mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
  • Add Egg:
Mix in the room-temperature egg until just combined.
  • Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing on low speed. Stop as soon as the flour is incorporated.
  • Fold in Mix-Ins:
Gently fold in the white chocolate chips and toffee bits with a spatula.
  • Form Cookies:
Scoop dough into 2-tablespoon portions and place on the prepared baking sheet, spacing evenly.
  • Bake:
Bake for 14–15 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through. Edges should be golden, and centers slightly underbaked.
  • Cool and Serve:
Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Watch the butter carefully while browning—it can burn quickly.
  • For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
  • Add a sprinkle of flaky salt on top for a gourmet touch.
