Description

Easy Cream Cheese Chicken is a creamy, rich, and flavorful dish that comes together in just 30 minutes! Tender pan-seared chicken is coated in a silky smooth cream cheese sauce infused with garlic, onions, and a touch of spice. Perfect for busy weeknights, this one-pan wonder is both satisfying and incredibly easy to make.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened, block-style)
  • 2 large chicken breasts (sliced in half lengthwise)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ medium onion (chopped)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • ¾ cup chicken broth
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Cream Cheese
    • Microwave the cream cheese until soft and easy to mix.
    • Cut it into small pieces and set aside.
  • Season and Sear the Chicken
    • Slice chicken breasts in half to create four thinner pieces.
    • Season both sides with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
    • Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Cook chicken for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked (165°F/75°C).
    • Transfer to a plate and set aside.
  • Sauté the Aromatics
    • Reduce heat to medium and add chopped onions.
    • Cook for 5-7 minutes until softened and golden.
    • Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  • Make the Creamy Sauce
    • Pour in the chicken broth and add softened cream cheese.
    • Stir until fully melted and smooth (this may take a few minutes).
    • Mix in Italian seasoning and crushed red pepper flakes.
  • Combine & Serve
    • Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and coat in the sauce.
    • Simmer for 1-2 minutes until heated through.
    • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Use softened cream cheese for a smooth sauce without lumps.
  • Don’t overcook the chicken—use a meat thermometer to ensure juiciness.
  • Adjust the sauce consistency by adding extra chicken broth if needed.
  • Add veggies like mushrooms, spinach, or bell peppers for more texture.
  • For extra spice, increase the crushed red pepper flakes.
