Description

Soft, buttery cookies with a delicious strawberry flavor, topped with a chocolate kiss for the perfect sweet treat. These vibrant cookies are easy to make and bring a nostalgic charm to any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg, at room temperature

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ½ teaspoon almond extract (optional)

  • 2 cups + 2 tablespoons (280g) all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • 1 package (3 oz) strawberry-flavored gelatin mix

  • ¼ cup powdered sugar, for dusting

  • 2430 chocolate kiss candies, unwrapped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, almond extract, and strawberry gelatin until well combined.

  2. Add Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture until a soft dough forms.

  3. Chill the Dough: Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to prevent spreading.

  4. Preheat & Shape: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll dough into small balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  5. Bake: Bake for 11-13 minutes or until edges are set but centers remain soft.

  6. Add the Chocolate Kiss: Let cookies cool slightly before gently pressing a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie.

  7. Final Touch: Once fully cooled, dust cookies with powdered sugar for a festive look.

  8. Serve & Enjoy: Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Use freeze-dried strawberry powder instead of gelatin for a natural alternative.

  • Substitute different flavored gelatin for fun variations.

  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
